It is not essential for a book to have a conclusion or an introduction, but it can help set perspective and then fill in loose ends when you do. The conclusion or afterword might talk about what happened to the author or other important characters in the book after the book was written or give the author’s perspective about how the reader should carry on using the ideas in the book in his or her own life.
